Cycling Team
The Cycling Team is a student-run club that has historically provided both recreational rides and competitive racing opportunities for Whitman students. The team strives to be inclusive and welcoming to riders of all backgrounds, skill levels, and identities, and emphasizes respect for all teammates and the broader cycling community.
Walla Walla’s quiet country roads and nearby trails offer excellent terrain for road, gravel, and mountain biking, and campus resources like the bike shop help keep riders’ equipment in top shape.
Currently, the Cycling Team is in a rebuilding period as students work to regain official club sport recognition.
Cycling Team Competition Details
In past seasons, the team has trained primarily in the spring and raced in the Northwest Collegiate Cycling Conference against other collegiate programs as well as in local amateur events. As interest grows and the club reestablishes itself, leaders will explore returning to conference racing and organizing group rides and skills clinics for the campus community.
