Climbing Team
The ³Ô¹ÏÍø Climbing Team is an officially recognized club sport dedicated to helping students develop their technical and physical climbing abilities in a supportive team environment.
The team welcomes climbers of all backgrounds, from those who are new to the sport to experienced athletes looking to train seriously. Students are encouraged to join whether or not they choose to compete, and the team strives to foster an inclusive, encouraging space where everyone can challenge themselves and grow.
Climbing Team Competition Details
During the fall training season, the Climbing Team organizes three training groups—beginner/intermediate, advanced, and open—so athletes can practice with peers at a similar level and receive appropriate coaching and feedback.
In the main competitive season, these training groups combine as the team travels to events in the Northwest Collegiate Climbing Circuit (NC3) and USA Climbing’s Collegiate Climbing Series, facing schools from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho such as the University of Washington and Oregon State University. The team also hosts the annual Sweet Onion Crank competition on campus, bringing together collegiate and community climbers for a highlight event each year.
