Getting Started: Your First Steps Toward a Health Career
If you’re considering a career in a health profession, you should attend the Health Professions Orientation during Opening Week of your first year. While there, sign up for the Health Professions email list in order to be kept informed about events on campus, internships, applications for graduate programs and other important news for pre-health students.
Next, make an appointment with your Health Professions Advisor to develop a four-year plan. You’ll discuss your career goals, courses and majors, internships, health care experiences, and application timelines. Plan to meet with your advisor each semester to assess your progress.
Finally, check out additional opportunities to explore the health professions through workshops, speakers and courses, as well as Whitman’s many health-focused .
