How To Become a Competitive Applicant
³Ô¹ÏÍø will help prepare you to put your best foot forward in your applications to postgraduate health programs. To make the most of your time at Whitman:
- Meet with your Health Professions Advisor to develop a four-year plan of study, identify experiences and internships that will enhance your education, discuss which postgraduate programs may be the best fit for you, and get help with the admission process
- Choose a course of study that stretches and challenges you—don’t settle for the minimum course requirements
- Learn as much as you can about the practice of your profession—from people working in the field and your own reading
- Connect with the Career and Community Engagement Center to find volunteer opportunities and make long-term commitments to service in your community
Health Professions Advisory Committee
³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Health Professions Advisory Committee can help facilitate your application to dental and medical schools by conducting a practice interview, reviewing your application materials and offering feedback.
This service is open to current students and alumni. For more information, contact the Office of Health Professions Advising.
