Mwamba Muntanga ™25: Opening Unexpected Doors

Mwamba Muntanga ™25 sitting outside on a sunny day.

Mwamba Muntanga ’25 was the first person from his high school in Zambia to go to college in the U.S. His ³Ô¹ÏÍø journey was marked by a desire to hold the door open for others and take advantage of every opportunity he found here. With the help of the Career and Community Engagement Center, he connected with mentors and found opportunities for internships in the finance industry, an experience that encouraged him to branch out of his Sociology major to pursue interests in , Computer Science and Human-Centered Design

Today he works as an analyst at Los Angeles-based Capital Group—and mentors other students from sub-Saharan Africa on their college prep journeys.
