Faculty Fellows Program

With the Faculty Fellows program, ³Ô¹ÏÍø seeks to enhance the breadth of its faculty and curriculum by hiring cohorts of emerging scholars in a one-year fellowship position. To allow for reflective teaching and sustained engagement with scholarship, fellows teach 60% of a regular teaching load. They also participate in a mentoring program that fosters their growth in the classroom and in their scholarly field.

Fellows enrich Whitman’s academic community with new areas of scholarly inquiry, emerging pedagogical practices, and diverse lived experiences. In addition to time to develop their research, the program offers fellows valuable experience teaching in a liberal arts environment, scholarly community within their cohort, and mentorship both within and beyond their department that helps them launch their careers.
