Motor Pool

Whitman suburban tows a trailer with kayaks and a Whitman van follows.

The Motor Pool is under the umbrella of Facilities Services.  We have an ASE-certified mechanic and technician. We are in charge of maintaining all ³Ô¹ÏÍø vehicles, mowers, tractors, and smaller equipment. We can assist faculty, staff, and students with dead batteries and assist with arranging tows.

In addition to our working vehicles, we have a Rental Fleet.  This Fleet is available to rent for authorized ³Ô¹ÏÍø business, events, and classroom fieldwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rent a vehicle for personal use?
No.  All vehicles must be sponsored and charged to a WC Department.

How do I rent a vehicle?
WC Motor Pool uses Agile Fleet Commander Software to request reservations.

  1. Make sure you have approval and a budget number (GL#). Ask your advisor or your Admin if you are not sure. All Budget numbers end in the object code 5700.
  2. . If you do NOT intend to drive, please list that in the comments.
  3. Have an for your trip. If you do not have one, please list the driver as “Pending”.  However, your reservation will be canceled 5 Business days prior to the trip departure if the driver is not authorized.

Can I rent a vehicle for an hour or two?
No.  We have a daily rate which allows us more flexibility with our users.  We charge for the day of use not by the hour. 

What if I need a vehicle on a Saturday? 
If you need a vehicle after working hours, we will check out the vehicle for you on a Friday after 3 pm.  You will only be charged for the day of use.
