Nav Rekhi ’06

Nav Rekhi ’06 has stayed very busy since graduating from ³Ô¹ÏÍø with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics. She attended Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and earned her law degree in 2010. She is currently a partner, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, at Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP and the founding member of their San Francisco office.

When she connected with Trustee Emeritus Bill Neff ’67 through her work, Neff’s enthusiasm for Whitman made an impression and reignited her own involvement with Whitman. Now, as a member of the President’s Advisory Board, Rekhi is delighted to support Whitman’s strategic priorities through leadership as well as her recent commitment of $50,000 toward the First Opportunity Scholarship Endowment.

Established in 2007 by Bill Neff ’67 and Rita Neff ’69, the First Opportunity Scholarship Endowment prioritizes first-generation students and provides significant scholarship aid to those who might not otherwise be able to attend Whitman. Rekhi’s support of this endowment helps the Upward Together campaign come one step closer to achieving its goal of meeting the full demonstrated financial need of all Whitman students.

Rekhi gives back to Whitman as a tribute to her time on campus. She believes strongly in translating a liberal arts education into careers in business and credits the critical thinking skills she developed at Whitman as essential to her success as a lawyer. She is also passionate about mentoring Whitman students who are interested in the law and finance.

Fifty Under 50 is a new initiative recognizing emerging leaders in philanthropy. Members are graduates of the class of 1989 or later and have made gifts and pledges exceeding $50,000 to the campaign.
