Laura Cummings

Assistant Director of Global Programs

Laura Cummings has been working at Whitman College since 2000, always with a focus on helping students in their college journey. She grew up in Southeast Washington and attended the University of Washington in Seattle earning a B.A. in Music and a B.M. in Voice. Laura has played a vital role in supporting study abroad students and faculty-led off-campus programs for many years. In 2023, she began working more closely with the college’s international students. In her spare time, Laura enjoys competing and teaching pickleball, leading step aerobics at Whitman and the YMCA, singing at church and community events, listening to music, and spending time with her awesome family! (Fun fact: Laura performed the National Anthem in the Seattle Kingdome at a Mariners game in the mid-1990s.)
