Whitman Branding Basics
Before designing your poster, it’s important to know the key elements of ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s brand identity. Using these will make your poster look official and consistent with other campus materials.
Official colors
Whitman’s primary colors are Whitman Blue (#002868) and Whitman Yellow (#FFC627). Secondary colors include Navy (#010E30) and neutrals like white, black, light blue, and gray. For most posters, focus on blue and yellow, with white or dark gray for body text. Enter the HEX codes in Canva or Adobe Express to match colors exactly. Using official colors gives your poster a familiar, recognizable Whitman look.
Official fonts
Whitman uses Lora (serif) for headlines and Vito (sans-serif) for body text. Vito requires a license, so we recommend accessible alternatives: Montserrat or Calibri for Vito. Montserrat is free in Canva and Adobe Express and works well for clean, readable text. Limit your design to two fonts total — one for headings, one for details—to keep it professional and cohesive.
Logo usage
For Whitman-sponsored events, include the ³Ô¹ÏÍø or your department/program logo. Always use official, high-quality versions from . Logos should appear only in Whitman Blue, white, or black. Keep white space around the logo, size it so it’s readable but not dominant, and place it at the top or bottom of the poster in a way that complements the design.
Consistency and tone
Whitman’s visual identity is professional yet welcoming. Use Whitman colors for headings and accents, and keep backgrounds simple—white or Whitman Blue are strong choices with contrasting text. Following the brand’s colors, fonts and logo guidelines ensures your poster is instantly recognizable as an official campus event.
