Since graduating from Whitman with a degree in English, Melissa Welling ’99 has spent her career learning to create content that delights, informs and inspires. Before joining Whitman’s Communications team in 2024, she worked as a copy editor, writer and editor for clients in higher education, health care and the nonprofit world. As Managing Editor, she oversees the day-to-day editorial production of Whitman Magazine, Whitman Stories and other print and digital projects. When she’s not at work, Melissa enjoys hiking, kayaking, and snuggling her two cats, preferably with a good book and a cup of tea.
