Why you chose Whitman

When I was initially looking at colleges my senior year of high school, I was not even considering Whitman. However, when I stepped on campus on my visit, I felt instantly welcomed and cared for by the coaching staff and my teammates. Beyond the athletic realm, I appreciated the fact that faculty, admissions staff, and everyone else truly wanted to see you succeed in all aspects of life. I ultimately committed to Whitman for the people and the environment where I was consistently challenged to grow in all aspects.

Favorite things to do in Walla Walla

Hanging out with friends - a benefit of a small college town setting is that all my friends live close to each other so spending time with them is a lot of fun. I also enjoy walking around town and trying new restaurants - my favorite thus far (within the budget of a college student) has been Grandma’s Kitchen.

Favorite spot on campus

Baker-Ferguson Fitness Center

What advice you’d give yourself when you were going through the college process

Start by finding out what is really important to you in a college experience. Rigorous academics? Growth as a person? Career development? Go find a place that will mold you into who you want to be and graduate with lifelong friends.

Best class you’ve taken on campus

US Constitutional Law my freshman fall. I’ve never taken a course that was so challenging yet thought-provoking. I enjoyed the law school class style and the readings. Completely changed the way I view US government and logic behind Supreme Court decisions.

Favorite campus traditions

Attending other sporting events.
