Why you chose Whitman
During my college search I looked for a school that offered unique and small classes. Whitman has exactly that! I have been able to collaborate closely with my professors and peers and take classes in all sorts of different topics. Additionally, what really set Whitman apart was my opportunity to fly in and meet students and staff. I felt immediately welcomed and at home. I knew Whitman would be a place where my interests and needs were supported.
Favorite things to do in Walla Walla
I love walking around downtown with my friends. We like to window shop and get a coffee or a treat at the Patisserie. I also like spending time outside, swimming in the river, hiking at Bennington Lake or just walking around the neighborhood. Finally, every Thursday I head to T-Post Tavern where they have a line dancing night!
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite place to spend time on campus is the art building. I think it is one of the most beautiful buildings on campus, with lots of natural light. It is a place where I can be creative and also spend time with my peers.
What advice you’d give yourself when you were going through the college process
Be open minded, trust yourself, and be confident in the choices you make.
Best class you’ve taken on campus
One of the best classes I have taken at Whitman is intro to environmental studies. In this class we went on field trips every week where we were able to learn from people in the community about specific environmental issues facing our town. Our professor pushed us to collaborate with each other and think deeply about the environment and our human impact on it.
Favorite campus traditions
