Why you chose Whitman

I chose Whitman because of the opportunities of a liberal arts education, and visiting campus for the first time confirmed my decision. I loved seeing how small class sizes make it easy to connect with peers and professors.

Favorite things to do in Walla Walla

Stopping by Colville Street Patisserie to grab some coffee and spending time with friends.

Favorite spot on campus

Narnia, Ankeny, Amphitheater

What advice you’d give yourself when you were going through the college process

I would remind myself to stay open to change. The college process is about learning what matters to you.

Best class you’ve taken on campus

Natural History and Ecology during the spring semester of my sophomore year.  As a sociology major in a biology course, I loved exploring the ecological and evolutionary principles behind the patterns we observed in the field. Weekly trips to different parts of the Walla Walla Valley, the Columbia River, and the Blue Mountains, gave me the chance to identify common plants and animals and connect them to the concepts we studied in class.

Favorite campus traditions

Going for a swim in the Bird Bath!
