Studio Music Instructor, voice, Director of Opera & Musical Theater Workshop

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Nathanael performs a wide variety of genres from opera to musical theater to jazz. His 2025 season includes role debuts as Jimmy Ray Dobbs () with Cinnabar Theater, Glen Vaganov () with Coeur d’Alene Summer Theater, and Lysander () with Walla Walla Shakespeare Under the Stars. Nathanael will also solo with Mid-Columbia Opera as a tenor soloist for Handel's Messiah.

His 2024 season included role debuts as John Jasper () with SF Lamplighters Music Theatre, Beast () with Walla Walla Summer Theater, and Curly () with Cinnabar Theater. Nathanael was also a guest soloist in Sing for America Foundation’s Benefit concert and joined the Walla Walla Choral Society as tenor soloist in Requiem for the Living.
 
Nathanael’s 2021-2023 seasons saw numerous company and role debuts. In 2023, Nathanael was Orpheus () with Pocket Opera, SF, followed by appearing as Dr. Neville Craven () with the Walla Walla Summer Theater.  In 2022, he joined SF Lamplighters Music Theatre as Montague “Monty” Navarro (), followed by his professional opera debut as Frederic with the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society ().  Emerging from the pandemic, Nathanael made his professional musical theatre debut in 2021 with 42nd Street Moon in San Francisco as the Ensemble/Journalist (). 
 
Nathanael has a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied with Jane Randolph. He received his BA in Film & Media Studies with a Minor in Music from ³Ô¹ÏÍø, where he also played varsity soccer. Currently, he is a Studio Music Instructor and Director of the Opera/Musical Theater Workshop at Whitman College. For more information about upcoming performances, please go to
 
An avid reader, Nathanael also enjoys hiking and spending time with his wife and cats.
