Monserrat Garcia Rodenas explores modern and contemporary Iberian literature, film and cultural visual productions, with a particular emphasis on the intersections of the Environmental and Medical Humanities. She specializes in topics such as rural myth and folklore, with a particular focus on the destruction of ecosystems and the resulting psychological impacts on affected communities. Garcia Rodenas is passionate about examining how environmental change intersects with cultural and social histories, and how such disruptions shape individual and collective identities. Her publications on Iberian cultural studies, Spanish film and literature have appeared recently in Hispanic Review, Ciberletras and Alba de América.
